A Reflection of Easter’s Transformative Promise
The year 2026 marks a momentous occasion—the 270th anniversary of Mozart’s birth. To honour this milestone, HOS presents a celebration of his enduring legacy through a thoughtfully curated selection of sacred and orchestral masterpieces.
At the heart of the programme is Mozart’s radiant Coronation Mass, a work long cherished for its splendour, devotional warmth, and triumphant character. Its festive majesty and soaring choral writing reflect both the joy of Easter and the profound hope at the center of the Christian faith. Through this Mass, we commemorate the Resurrection with music that proclaims glory, renewal, and divine grace.
Complementing this centerpiece is the brilliant Jupiter Symphony, whose dazzling final fugue—interweaving five themes in magnificent counterpoint—stands as a testament to Mozart’s musical genius. Together with selected chamber and choral works, the programme highlights the breadth of his artistry: intricate yet approachable, reverent yet exuberant.
May Mozart’s timeless creations—rich in beauty, clarity, and emotional depth—continue to inspire, uplift, and invite all listeners into a deeper reflection of Easter’s transformative promise.
