The Hallelujah Chamber Orchestra (HCO) was established in January 2019 under the auspices of the Hallelujah Oratorio Society (HOS). As part of HOS, HCO shares the mission of “Promoting Church Music to Glorify God and Edify Man” with a focus on nurturing its musicians in both musical excellence and spiritual growth.

HCO began with a dozen string musicians under the guidance of founding director Mr. Peter Yan, with music director John Tong conducting. In 2021, Kimberlyn Wu joined the orchestra as concertmaster and violin instructor, further enriching the group’s development.

With a vision to grow into a full orchestra supporting HOS performances and ministry programmes, HCO runs a comprehensive music program that includes:

• Violin Programme:For beginners.
• Training Orchestra:For musicians at Grades 3–4.
• Chamber Orchestra:For musicians at Grade 5 and above.

HCO is actively recruiting new members to join its expanding team.

In 2024, HCO celebrated its 5th anniversary with a grand concert titled Sounds of Mendelssohn at the Victoria Concert Hall, featuring Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor and Symphony No. 5 “Reformation.”

Over the years, the orchestra’s repertoire has included:

• Joseph Haydn:Seven Last Words on the Cross (Orchestral version), The Creation (Oratorio).
• S. Bach:Orchestral Suite No. 3 and Violin Concerto in A minor.
• A. Mozart:Exsultate Jubilate, Symphony No. 40, and Divertimento in D major, K136.
• Felix Mendelssohn:String Symphony No. 10 and Christmas Canticles (a choral suite by Benjamin Harlan).

Beyond formal concerts, HCO has performed in informal settings, participated in worship services, and taken part in a masterclass led by Foo Say Ming and Wu Man Yun, both members of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra violin section.

哈利路亚室内管弦乐团 (HCO) 成立于2019年1月，由哈利路亚圣乐社 (HOS) 大力支持并赞助。属于圣乐社的成员，乐团秉承圣乐社的宗旨：“促进圣乐，荣神益人”，专注于培养其团员在音乐上的卓越成就和灵性上的成长。

最初由十几位弦乐手组成，由创办人甄彼得先生指导，音乐总监张桐担任指挥。2021年，余佩诗于2021年加入，担任首席小提琴手和小提琴指导老师，进一步丰富了乐团的发展。

乐团的愿景是发展成为一个能够支持圣乐社演出和事工活动的完整的乐团，有一套全面性的音乐训练：

小提琴课程：为初学者。
培训乐团：为达3-4级水平的乐手。
室内乐团：为达5级及以上水平的乐手。
乐团正积极招募新成员加入其不断扩大的队伍。

2024年，乐团成立五周年的庆祝，是在维多利亚音乐厅举办了“孟德尔颂之声”盛大音乐会，演奏了孟德尔颂的 《E 小调小提琴协奏曲》和第五交响曲《宗教改革》。

乐团历年曲目包括：

海顿：《十字架上的最后七言》（管弦乐版）、《创世记》神曲。
巴赫：《第三管弦乐组曲》和《A 小调小提琴协奏曲》。
莫扎特：《欢乐颂》、《第四十交响曲》和《D 大调嬉游曲》（K136）。
孟德尔颂：《第十弦乐交响曲》和《圣诞颂歌》（本杰明·哈兰合唱组曲）。

除了正式音乐会外，乐团也在非正式场合中与教会崇拜中参与演出，并参加由新加坡交响乐团小提琴组成员符史洺和吴曼云带领的大师班。
